I've always stayed connected with IMI - there's just something special about this place. It all started when I mentioned to one of my professors who taught me that I'd love to experience taking a guest lecture. Forgot to take a picture today (rookie mistake!), but here's a throwback from my student days instead. Note to self: capture these moments next time! Bringing real-world experience back to the classroom makes the learning so much more practical. Big thanks to Himadri Das, Prof (Dr) Sanjay Dhamija, and especially Dr. YUKTI BAJAJ for guiding me through preparing this session. Hope to be back soon! This time with a photo. #IMI #GuestLecture #AlumniLife

This week, I read an article shared by Lenny Rachitsky. It was about real learning vs. fake learning. And it hit home. For years, I thought I was learning. Buying books (not reading). Listening (thinking of listening) to podcasts. Watching videos. But we just collect smart words. We don't go deep. We don't learn to understand. We learn to look smart. This article changed how I think. Learning from books. He had this glow. He didnโ€™t talk to look knowledgeable. He was knowledgeable. That glow came from years of deep learning. Not from reading or summaries. But from reading. Writing. Thinking. Now, I intend to create my learning path. ๐“๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฒ๐ž๐š๐ซ, ๐ˆ ๐ฐ๐š๐ง๐ญ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ ๐จ ๐๐ž๐ž๐ฉ ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐จ: - Artificial Intelligence and design - Managing People - Teaching others I want to stop skimming and start digging. I listened to a fascinating podcast on the future of generative AI in financial services. AI in financial services is now ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ฉ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐š๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ like marketing and development to ๐›๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐จ๐ซ๐ž ๐›๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ. There are 2 clear paths for AI in financial services. These are companies that help you understand, manage your money or make decisions. Example: Cleo, an AI financial assistant that: - Helps users track spending without judgment - "Roasts" users about poor spending choices in a friendly way - Builds trust through conversation, not just data - Provides personalised advice when you need it These companies use AI to leapfrog traditional banks and quickly disrupt services. They don't need legacy systems or thousands of employees. These companies hold and move your money. For example, traditional banks offer accounts and credit and payment companies that handle transactions. Their strength lies in the trust and data from years of customer relationships. If you're a new startup you could focus on Path 1. Use AI to provide smarter advice, insights and intelligence and If you're a bank you can The winners will be those who know which path they're on and play to their strengths. Which path is your company on? Thoughts? #FinancialServices #AI #Fintech #Banking Go through the Podcast in the comments.
